REGISTRATION

The registration period for the admissions test to the Basque School of Violin Making in Bilbao will be from 8 May to 29, 2024.

Steps to register:

• Go to Ikasgunea. Registration needs to be through Ikasgunea, the Basque Government’s Department of Education website.
• Once in Ikasgunea, click ‘Pruebas de acceso/Concursos’ (admissions tests/public service exams).
• Click the “Estudios Profesionales de Música” (professional music studies) box.
• Select MKP Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga CPM. Select the specialisation “Luthería” (lutherie) (1st year) and select “Luthería 2024”.
• Attach the necessary documentation. Only one document can be attached in each section. Both sides of your DNI (national identity card) have to be provided together in the same file.
• You need to send your basic music certificate (if you have one) and documentation on your merits to the secretary’s office at: oficina@conservatoriobilbao.com
• Your registration will be validated once the fees have been paid.

Registration conditions

The academic and music requirements must be met. The certificates accrediting them must be submitted when applying for the admissions test.

Academic conditions

To have obtained a secondary/high school graduate certificate, its equivalent or to have passed the university admissions test for over 25s.

Those who do not meet the academic requirements will need to take the maturity test corresponding to the Department of Education of each Autonomous Community. Passing this substitute compulsory secondary education level test will enable access to the following studies.

Music conditions

To hold the Elementary Music Teaching Diploma or an equivalent Elementary Diploma obtained at an official conservatory or authorised institution.

If you do not hold this diploma, you will need to take a music knowledge test in any specialisation at the Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Conservatory of Music.
